Rise of Tarkan Update — New Maps, Server Improvements, and Skill Tree Changes!
Hello, Rise of Tarkan players!
We're bringing another major update to the game! This time, we've prepared changes that go far beyond adding new content. We've been working on improving our server infrastructure, player distribution across maps, class balance, and character progression.
Our goal is to continue providing an even better gaming experience, with more places to level up, increased server capacity, and a more balanced environment for everyone.
Check out everything that's changed below!
1. Server Consolidation — Genesis and Legacy
One of the biggest changes in this update is the reorganization of servers across both realms.
From now on, each realm will have only two servers:
Genesis Realm
-
1 Main Server
-
1 VIP Server
Legacy Realm
-
1 Main Server
-
1 VIP Server
Why did we make this change?
Previously, we spread players across multiple servers to prevent overcrowding and ensure a smooth gaming experience.
However, our infrastructure has improved significantly!
We've made major improvements to server performance and capacity. Each server is now designed to support up to 5,000 concurrent players.
Additionally, with the introduction of new maps and hundreds of new spots, players will have much more space available for leveling and farming.
But there's another important reason behind this decision: we want a more active and lively world!
With fewer server divisions, players will have more opportunities to meet others, form parties, participate in events, trade items, and enjoy everything an MMORPG has to offer.
We believe that a more populated world makes the experience much more exciting, without unnecessarily separating players across multiple servers.
Important: Genesis and Legacy will remain completely independent realms, each maintaining its own progression system and unique characteristics. This reorganization only affects the servers within each realm.
2. New Maps and Over 250 Hunting Spots!
We have some exciting news for players who enjoy exploring and leveling up their characters!
We've added 5 new maps to both realms, significantly expanding the available hunting and leveling areas.
New Maps:
-
Deep Dungeon 1
-
Deep Dungeon 2
-
Deep Dungeon 3
-
Deep Dungeon 4
-
Swamp of Darkness
With these additions, we've introduced over 250 new hunting spots throughout the game!
This means many more options for players at different levels, allowing everyone to find new places to level up, form parties, and fight monsters.
We know that finding a good hunting spot is an important part of the MU Online experience. That's why we're continuously expanding the world of Rise of Tarkan, providing more alternatives without having to create additional servers.
And don't worry! We'll continue monitoring map activity and making adjustments whenever necessary.
3. Gemstone Drop Changes
We also have an important improvement for players looking to farm Gemstones!
Previously, Gemstones were mainly obtained in specific areas. Now, we're expanding the possibilities!
Gemstones can now drop starting in Tarkan and throughout all higher-level maps.
This means you will no longer need to rely exclusively on Kanturu to obtain Gemstones.
And don't worry: Kanturu will continue dropping Gemstones as usual!
The goal of this change is to allow players to make better use of their leveling time by collecting Gemstones while training in different areas of the game.
This will also help distribute players more evenly across maps and provide greater freedom when choosing hunting spots.
4. Important Master Skill Tree Changes
This is one of the most significant changes in this update, especially regarding class balance and PvP.
The Master Skill Tree will now have a maximum limit of 400 allocated points.
Why are we limiting the Master Skill Tree?
As characters progressed, we noticed that having too many available skill points allowed players to unlock almost every upgrade in the tree.
This reduced build diversity, since many characters could eventually obtain nearly all available benefits.
We want to change that!
With the new 400-point limit, players will need to think more carefully about how they develop their characters.
You'll need to decide which skills and upgrades are most important for your playstyle, whether you focus on PvP, PvE, defense, damage, or other strategies.
This change aims to provide:
-
Better balance between classes.
-
More meaningful character build choices.
-
Greater variety in skill point allocation.
-
More strategic PvP encounters.
-
Greater importance placed on progression decisions.
Our goal isn't simply to limit characters, but to make progression more strategic and balanced.
What happens if I already have more than 400 points?
Don't worry!
Any points exceeding the 400-point limit will be converted into Enhance Tree (4th Tree) points.
In other words, your excess points won't simply disappear. They can be used in the character's new progression system.
5. Enhance Tree — The Next Stage of Character Progression!
With this update, the Enhance Tree becomes an even more important part of character progression.
The Enhance Tree is an additional skill tree unlocked after completing the 4th Quest.
It represents a new stage of progression, allowing players to continue developing their characters through specialized upgrades.
How do I unlock the Enhance Tree?
To gain access, you'll need to complete the 4th Quest.
NPC Location:
-
Map: Lorencia
-
Coordinates: X: 131, Y: 147
Once you complete the quest, the new skill tree will become available.
Where can I find the new skill tree?
It's simple!
Open your Character Status window and look for the button labeled 4th Tree.
From there, you'll be able to access the Enhance Tree and allocate your available points.
This change is part of our plan to better separate the different stages of character progression, making the Master Skill Tree more strategic while giving greater importance to progression through the 4th Quest.
6. Skill Improvements and Fixes
The Master Skill Tree changes also come with a review of several existing skills.
We've made adjustments and minor fixes to existing abilities, along with the introduction of new skills.
These improvements are intended to ensure that skills function more consistently and contribute to better balance between classes.
Class balancing is an ongoing process. We understand that each class has its own strengths and unique characteristics, and we want to preserve those differences while providing a fair and enjoyable experience.
We'll continue monitoring the results of these changes and making further adjustments whenever necessary.
7. New Skills Available Through the Ruud System!
The Ruud System has also received exciting new content!
Players can now acquire new skills using Ruud, expanding their character development options.
These skills will be available for a small amount of Ruud, making them accessible to players.
Our goal is to give players another meaningful way to spend the Ruud they earn through in-game activities, turning this currency into new progression opportunities.
So, in addition to the items and resources already available, you'll now have new skills to unlock!
8. What Do We Hope to Achieve With These Changes?
All of these improvements are part of a larger plan for the future of Rise of Tarkan.
We don't just want to keep adding content. We want the game to evolve in a structured way, providing a great experience for both new players and experienced veterans.
With stronger servers, new maps, over 250 hunting spots, and changes to the skill trees, we're working toward an environment with:
-
More players sharing the same world.
-
More opportunities for interaction and party formation.
-
Greater freedom when choosing where to level up.
-
More strategic character builds.
-
Better balance in PvP encounters.
-
More content and progression opportunities.
We understand that some changes will require players to adapt, especially the new Master Skill Tree point distribution.
However, we believe these adjustments are important for the long-term health and development of the game.
Our commitment is to continue monitoring class performance, server stability, and, most importantly, community feedback.
And There's Much More to Come!
This update represents another major step forward in the development of Rise of Tarkan, but we still have plenty of exciting content in the works!
We'll continue working on new features, performance improvements, balance adjustments, and additional content to make the experience even better for everyone.
We want to thank everyone who has been part of this journey, from our longtime players to those who have recently joined the adventure.
Rise of Tarkan continues to grow, and you're an essential part of that journey!
See you in-game!
